Thanks for the support, for taking the time to write, and also for your kind words. You bring up a good point on the question of which caliber does the FBI allow field agents to use. The FBI, in general, follows the same guidelines as many police departments in not allowing agents or officers to carry a weapon that fires a round with so much power as the Magnum .44. The reason is control. The Magnum round will go on for a long time, through walls, people, etc, certainly hitting targets beyond the one intented by the agent/officer. So why is Karen Frost using it? Karen is a bit of a rogue agent. She is out on her own against a criminal network that certainly doesn't follow any rules. She carries the Desert Eagle Magnum as her way of trying to level the playing field a bit.
