R.J. Pineiro is an 22-year veteran of the computer industry. He has spent all of that time at Advanced Micro Devices, where he is currently the director of product engineering of leading edge microprocessors. During his career, R.J. Pineiro worked on numerous microprocessor development and production efforts, starting back with the pioneering 8086 8-bit processor, the integrated circuit powering the first IBM personal computers during the early Eighties. Since then, R.J. Pineiro has been involved/managed developments and production ramps of four additional generations of microprocessors, the 80286, the K5, the K6, and currently the K8, the world's first x86 compatible, 64-bit microprocessor.
